Join the Dance 2nd & 4th Fridays
Every 2nd and 4th Friday, we have a social dance in SW Portland that is DJ’d by Steve with a variety of dance styles and an emphasis on nightclub 2-step. We’re the only nightclub-focused social dance in town!

2nd Friday Dance:
6:45-7:45 pm – Lesson with rotating focus (waltz, one-step, chacha, etc.). Please check the calendar. $10 gets you the whole evening.
7:45-9:15 pm – Social Dance. Variety of music styles and genres. Mix of nightclub 2-step, with waltz, west coast, one-step, and more. $5.
4th Friday Dance:
6:45-7:45 pm – Intermediate Nightclub lesson. $10 for lesson and dance.
7:45-9:15 pm – Social Dance. Variety of music styles and genres. Lots of nightclub 2-step, with waltz, west coast, one-step, and more. $5 for dance only.
Please come talk to us at 7:45 for a quick intro to nightclub if you’re a beginner or are bringing a beginner. We love to have new dancers!

Beginning Nightclub 2-step: Weds. 6:45-7:45 pm – Get moving to your favorite music with this smooth and easy social dance.
Beginning Chacha: Weds. 7:45-8:45 pm - Latin is as hot as ever. Start from scratch with this fun Afro-cuban original. (There are a few different versions of chacha, but we like to break on 2, like you’ll find in salsa clubs. If you don’t know what that means, you’ll learn at the first class!)
Each four-week class is $40 for non-members ($28 for members). No partner required.

Sundays at Dancewell
May 5 – May 19
Beginning Fusion Waltz – Sundays at 5pm with Ariel. Assumes some familiarity with any style of waltz. This third session will introduce rotary waltz, which is suitable for moderate to faster tempos. We’ll practice right and left-turning rotary waltz, and transitions.
The name “Fusion Waltz” was coined by Seattle’s Ari Levitt, and is a relaxed and creative style of waltz that combines moves from multiple other dances. Music includes classic and contemporary songs at tempos ranging from 100 to around 170 bpm.
$35 prepaid for 3 weeks, or $12 drop-in. No class Memorial Weekend.
June 2 – June 23
Beginning Nightclub 2-step – Sundays at 5pm with Ariel. A fun and easy dance with a great variety of music. Starts from the very beginning; perfect for newcomers.
$35 prepaid for 4 weeks, or $12 drop-in.
